Candidate for Arkansas Legislature- defeated (1990)

Branch Manager for 7 years for Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.-Nashville (1992-1999)

Won the London Brokerage Award while at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. for the most business placed in the London facility in one year (1997)

Won the Wightman award while at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. for the most innovative product developed (1997)

Received the John Gallagher award for the #1 producer in the entire nation (1997)

Developed Tennessee School Boards Association program for property/casualty and workers compensation program in 1987. John continues to service this program today under its new name, Tennessee Risk Management Trust. This program is no longer affiliated with the Tennessee School Boards Association.

Created the LOGIC workers compensation pool for Tennessee public entity business (1996)

Started a satellite office for Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. with 2 employees and grew it to 33 and from $3,000,000 in premium to $20,000,000 in 5 years (1994-1999)

Developed composite rating structure and mass marketing program for Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama and Georgia (1995)

Opened a satellite office in Georgia (1997)

Honored by Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. corporate to serve as National Public Entity director for the Public Entity Practice Group (1998)

Served as a board member for the Sumner County Airport Authority (1998-1999)
